This bare-bones ABC book breaks no new ground, but it will be adored by dog lovers. One capital letter appears in the corner of each white page along with corresponding "dog" words. The irresistible, artistically photographed puppies that illustrate the words and phrases are the real draw here. F is for "Fetch," G is for "Good dog," Q shows a "Quiet" Welsh corgi, and Z features a snoozing spaniel. Taken from unusual angles, the photos highlight the characteristics of each pup. For example, a boxer's head appears to be almost as big as his body and a pug looks to be all tongue. Some of the puppies seem to be looking right at readers, and others look as if they might just walk right off the pages. All of the breeds are identified in a list at the end of the book.
